About

Welcome to Process of Play! I’m Amanda, founder and creator.

My son and I. He's my little tester and keeps me on my toes!

Process of Play formally began in the summer of 2020. That spring I was about to launch my in-person toddler process art and sensory play sessions when the world changed and those sessions were put on hold.

As I was home with my son (then 2 years old) I continued to set up sensory play and process art activities, and wondered “How could I make art and play easy for parents, at this time (in the pandemic) when they need it most?”.

One of our favourite process art activities - my son gets to explore and I get to enjoy a cup of hot coffee!

First came the sensory boxes then came the online process art classes. I love sharing play and art ideas with parents from around the world. I aim to install a love for art and play through my online courses.

My western roots coming through...

I'm an art teacher. If you know me, art is my background and my present. In my career, I've come to realise the importance of the arts in our lives, and I truly love the joyful process that comes from art creation.

Searching for street art in London...

Though I love being a classroom teacher, I believe that support for the arts starts at home. Let go of your expectations of what art is. It doesn't take fancy materials or an art degree to do this with your children. Embrace their creativity, encourage them to explore, let them take risks and solve problems. I've seen it with my son and I know you can see it in your children too.

So, head to the shop to check out my process art courses and fill your days with creative and fun activities!
